Falian Zhang |
President of UCAPE
Born in Liaocheng City, Shandong Province, China. Graduated from Liaocheng University with a
Bachelor degree in English Language and Literature in 1990. Prior to coming to the People's University
of China for his Master degree in 1995, he had taught for several years at Liaocheng University. Mr. Zhang
had started working in the Chinese central government since 1995 before he joined the faculty of the
University of Minnesota as a research specialist in 2000. He got his second Master degree in American
Law at Indiana University in 2004, and then he transferred to the J. D. program at Indiana University
School of Law-Indianapolis. |

Wei
Zhang |
Executive President of UCAPE
Born in Henan Province, China. Wei graduated from South Central
China Institute of Politics and Law with LL.B in 1996, and Zhongnan University of Economics and
Law with M.A of Law degree in 1999. He started working as an in-house lawyer for the board of
directors at China Eagle Securities Co. Ltd (CES) since 1999 until he was appointed a general manger
of Dalian Headquaters of CES in 2001, working on investment banking projects such as IPO, LBO
and internal risk management. Wei received his second Master degree in law (LL.M) at Indiana
University in 2004. After then, he pursues J.D. degree at Indiana University School of Law-Indianapolis.

Zhendu Zhang |
Vice President of UCAPE
Born in Hebei, China. Graduated with a MD degree from Beijing
Medical University in 1984. Mr. Zhang came to McMaster University,Canada for his Ph.D degree in
Medicine in 1989. Prior to joining the faculty of Department of Surgery as a Research Manager at
University of Chicago in 2003, he had served as a researcher in St. Joseph Hospital, Canada, Rush
University Medical Center and Indiana University Medical School. |

Tianbo Huang |
Vice President of UCAPE
Born in Zaozhuang City, Shandong. Graduated with a Bachelor
degree in English News Writing and Editing from China School of Journalism, Beijing in 1995.
Mr. Huang served as Reporter & Editor, Marketing Director at Xinhua News Agency before he
came to Missouri University School of Journalism for his Master degree in Broadcasting Journalism
in 2000. Now Mr. Huang serves as Programming Coordinator, CNN Global Headquarter and
Columnist, Washington Observer. |

Lijun Chen |
Vice President of UCAPE
Born in Gaotang city, Shandong, China. Graduated with a Master degree
in English Literature from Beijing Foreign Studies University in 1991. Prior to coming to University of Chicago
for his Ph. D degree in Sociology in 1997, Mr. Chen served as a Press Officer at Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the
People’s Republic of China. He joined the faculty of Chapin Hall Center for Children as a researcher at University
of Chicago in 2003. |

Yuhuang Zheng |
Secretary-General of UCAPE
Ph.D. in Business. Born in Fujian Province,China, Yuhuang graduated from
Tsinghua University in 1998 with double bachelor’s degrees in Engineering and Economics. He also received
his MBA degree from MIT Sloan-Tsinghua International MBA program in 2000. During his MBA studying,
he worked as an associate manager at Compaq Computer Corporation. After then, Yuhuang studied at Columbia
University Graduate School of Business, and received his Ph.D degree in business in 2005. In September 2005,
Yuhuang joined the faculty of Fordham University in New York City as an Assistant Professor of Business. |

Hong Yang |
Senior Advisor
Ph.D. in Chemistry. Born in Leshan City, Sichuan Province, China. Hong
graduated from Chengdu University of Science and Technology with B.S. in chemistry in 1982. Hong started
his graduate study in the Department of Chemistry at the State University of New York at Stony Brook in 1985.
He received his Ph.D. in theoretical chemistry in May 1990. Hong spent the next 10 years at North Carolina
State University-Raleigh, conducting research and teaching activities. From May of 2000, Hong served as the
director of the China Center at University of Minnesota. |

Jeffrey W. Grove |
Senior Advisor
Following his graduation from George Washington law school, Mr. Grove served for two years as law
clerk with Honorable Ruggero J. Aldisert, United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. Mr. Grove
joined the Indiana University, Indianapolis law faculty in 1971; was Associate Dean for Academic Affairs (1981-86);
and was Acting Dean (1986-spring 1988). He is a tenured professor of law and now serves as the Associate Dean,
responsible for the graduate law degree programs - Master of Laws (LL.M.) and Doctor of Juridical Science (S.J.D.).
For more than 15 years, Professor Grove directed the law school’s China Law Summer Program, launched
in 1987 at East China University of Political Science & Law in Shanghai, and relocated to Renmin (People's)
University of China School of Law, Beijing, in 1998. Professor Grove has traveled to China ten times, visited a dozen
law schools and lectured to students, law faculties, judges and lawyers throughout China.
Mr. Grove is a member of the Board of Directors of the law school’s Center for International & Comparative
Law; and an elected member of the American Law Institute (ALI).
